Knowledge is power. If a web design teacher has never heard of “Web Standards”, CSS, Semantic HTML, but most importantly resources for teaching the material then it is our fault for not preparing that teacher. Many of us who know these topics have pursued further knowledge because our passion or job requirements forced us to. Many educators’ jobs do not depend upon the content they teach, nor do they have curriculum to support their courses.
Inform anyone who will listen of the wide gap between what isexpected of applicants entering the WDD field and what is being taught in educational institutions. With that said, pay special attention to education faculty, administrators, department heads, and other curriculum practitioners.
